Any news on when the next Layoff notification is rumored to happen this month?

When you say that you gave up 3 mo for retirement benefits what did that buy you? Just curious...
I was in mgmt I was just surplussed. Notified 1/28 and I stayed with the company to try to find an internal position until 3/29. There were a handful of positions that I was totally qualified that I never heard back on anything. Ever. They weren't filled they were just 'pending' open. I rec 1 interview for a position that I could have done and had done similar jobs in the past only to be turned down. Now, we are supposed to have top priority in getting a new position, but I have no idea who that job was offered. I had 23 years so I would have basically scrubbed toilets for 2 years to get to 25 years because of the leaps my pension would have taken.
So, unless something would change, I can tell you there was no incentive to be off payroll early, and I'm not sure who would take that option unless you were about ready to retire anyway. Now I did give up half my severance (3 months) in order to rec retiree benefits. One frustrating thing is we were all offered the same severance - 6 months- whether you were there 6 years, 15 years or 30 years.
Just wanted to share the process I went through and assume it will be the same.
We all heard 4/22....and then another June, then October and in to 2020.....Something to look forward to in Hell with fluorescent lighting...….
watch your language in the offer. they can differ and if you stay the extra 60 days to find a job they can take it out of your severance.
For @xrc I wanna add, same severance for 3 weeks or 3 months.
For the union, ATT can’t touch TFS (CORE technicians) at this time, by contract union has to be informed of the lay-off numbers 1 or 2 weeks before the end of A quarter which is last week of June since we already passed 1st quarter.
For the installation technicians they can lay-off with 3 weeks notice that’s it.
Good luck to everyone.
4/22 and 6/1 doesn’t sound right, I was part of the 3/28, when announced option 2 is take money and off the book in exactly 21 days.
Option 1 stay on payroll for 60 days with priority to get a job (BS was told not a match when applied for my exact title in a different state).
If you have something lined up take the money and run, if not stay don’t spit on 4 more paychecks plus another check after you leave plus insurance before severance check.
Keep in mind you don’t get any money from EDD until you exhaust severance money.
@jke: Ok, tool! Nice try!
“On what authority”? Oh brother
On what authority do any of you have to quote a date or incentive? Do you know someone who is in the know and is a reliable source or are you guessing?
Jke - who sent the all clear notifications? Do you know what ATO orgs were notified?
"They offer more financial incentive to take option 2(leave company), rather than stay 60 days trying to find another internal position. Not sure what the differences are between union or management severance"
@xrc - How do you figure you're better off not taking 2 months additional pay to "look for an internal opportunity" (chuckle) as opposed to leaving without it?
Speaking from management perspective, your severance is your severance. Does not matter whether you take the 60 days or not. There is certainly no financial incentive to not take the 60 days.
That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works:
"The all clear notifications came out last Friday via email from HR, if you didn't get one then on the 22nd you get a 60 day letter (Mgt only)"
The all clear notifications came out last Friday via email from HR, if you didn't get one then on the 22nd you get a 60 day letter (Mgt only)
They offer more financial incentive to take option 2(leave company), rather than stay 60 days trying to find another internal position. Not sure what the differences are between union or management severance.
What does "incentive to be off the books by 6/1" refer to?
Are u referring to union or mgmt?
4/22 with the incentive to be off the books by 6/1. What a wonderful place.
4/22
