Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

SAFE is difficult to implement when a good majority key business applications are older legacy apps and are still not able to deliver in an agile environment albeit some identify they are "Agile" (Not True). Also, a typical medium size enterprise business project impacting an AT&T business product E2E typically includes 45 plus applications....Setting up an ART has also proven to be difficult in getting application teams SE & Dev to identify a full time resource for one ART when resources are generally supporting multiple initiatives and products/services at the same time.....Also, the funding is just not available to support a full-time resource for an application that may end up having minimal impacts depending upon how features/functionality get prioritized....However, I do think SAFE can work successfully in some environments and for some projects but not all and certainly not large infra-structure projects... From what I have seen, Agile works well for maintenance, iterative development, and also for prototypes, but large projects are trying to align budget, communications, support organizations, training, and need to know when to mesh their efforts with the product launch etc...SAFE Agile is not a “one size fits all” for every development project but everyone at AT&T is drinking the proverbial Kool-aid and are putting blinders on in this regard and scared to speak-up when for some projects it just does not make sense.

You don't need a 90 to pass the SAFE test....I think someone said 76 is passing but your score is not reported anywhere,,,,,I heard it is $50.00 if you have to take it again. It is not difficult. Just study what the class documents received and trainer gives additional study materials. I hardly studied and passed on the first shot and did not take the pre-test,,,,I think I received an 82 ,,,not sure but only Pass is reported......Train with other colleagues and take the practice test together. I have helped multiple study for it and the majority passed...Good Luck

No one is SAFE. That aside, you must really be special needs, this is a layoff forum not a training forum. Go ask mommy (your supervisor) stupid questions or go to the source and find the right answers, not peoples opinions on a layoff forum

SAFe is a proven methodology, it works when implemented correctly, it just does not make accomadations for meddling. most effectivenss will be nullified, by politics, nepotism, and th we will just call it SAFe crowd at Avp and above.

Another proven methodology lost in the T vortex. Six sigma, lean, agile, scaled agile, give it a couple of year some of waisted and a new cure for all will be found.

SAFe could work, on specific projects or areas in agile,development, the one size fits all approach will not work

SAFe is easy material. Seriously. WIP = work in progress. Program Increment =3 month release. RTE = project manager, Program Iteration = sprint. And PI Planning = release planning. Also, there is supposed to be fixed headcount for the Train and fixed budget, since you are not doing furloughs. The business is supposed to assign values to each feature they request so you can track granular ROI.

Things ATT won't get rid of but don't align with SAFe: testing teams, MDE/DDE estimates, monthly funding cycle, endless reporting of percentage complete, and those M1-11 milestones in the S curve.

Took the test for “SAFe 4 Teams” and passed with 96. I heard the role base exam is harder but I don’t know. There’s also ‘Leading SAFe’ exam, so it depends which training class you take as to which test you will take. Had not heard it would count against you if you don’t pass, but my group was told they “expect us to pass”. (ATO TD)

This is not really important, what is important is have you done your part with an upper decker today?
