Could one imagine the terrifying number of lay offs if the Company peels open the multiple levels of Managementand see how much waste is generated to show employees are relevant? Hiding, Banking. And Creating False Widgets are probably 90% of the day for most employees.

Haha... yes I agree on that one too. Back in the day when I started in early 2000's Technicians were Technicians!! We spend 99% of the work day fixing things, troubleshooting, etc etc. Only maybe 1% on clerical sh--. Nowadays is the opposite, most of our days get consumed all kind of different management systems and applications bla bla inputting mostly irrelevant stuff on a webpage, looking for information across another load of systems, figuring out what they are talking about and looking out for time measurements and metrics and all that BS... No longer is important to be a great Troubleshooter and known you craft from A to Z... All day counting the hours and minutes for not to mess the tickets!!

Y9B2iz0-3oel: I could not agree more. Accounting for my time daily is like a second job. After 20 years with T, I have learned to roll with the punches. I'll gladly spend 2 to 3 hours a day on the computer keyboard and mouse justifying my job. Might get tunnel carpal syndrome from that, but no more than my normal job tasks would do. 40 bucks an hour is 40 bucks an hour...

Funny that the same entity that created this MSOC bull c-ap is the one under scrutiny for fudging the numbers. They created a system that the only way you could make your numbers is to fudge them. id--ts...

I have been a Systems tech. I have been a customer services tech. I have been a Network Center Tech. I am now a Communications tech. The common thread in all titles is the horrible misuse of MSOC. It drives bad behavior. We are beaten to death with numbers. We spend half of our time, keeping track of our time. It is like having a second job.

I never confirmed to that You Achieve/Five Star c-ap. We have been encouraged management for years to add bogus steps to our job to artificially inflate our numbers so that they could get their bonuses. My last two first levels have actually threatened us disciplinary action if they didn’t get their bonuses. Most of us in construction, including me never went along with that c-ap. The company can’t fire you for low numbers as long as you are where you are supposed to be, but they can terminate you for lying on your time reports.

@Y9B2iz0-1qeq If the company didn't create an environment like the college admissions scandal, none of this would be happening the way it has. Nepotism reigns supreme at the highest levels. If you're liked by the "groupies" you're in, doesn't matter if your the worst manager, they like you.

This is all a reflection on poor management from above. Scapegoats at the bottom will be disciplined and probably fired while managerial incompetence at the highest levels continues unabated.

The whole I-R system is flawed and corrupt and an absolute sham regarding these tickets. People trying to get bonuses and stupid prizes...instead of fixing the actual problem customer is having....drive around and look at some of the I-R work ..such as slic closures on dip cables hanging vertically?? you kidding me ?? nobody cares or does anything but forget to fill out some bs paperwork and they may fire you !

The behavior under scrutiny, is the behavior created by unrealistic metrics.

Not just Florida.

Several TFS garages in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee are being looked into. We are talking GPS records being pulled from up to 6 months back. Multiple tickets created and closed in certain amount of time throwing red flags now. Falsifying narratives.

Fiber audits are going to start being conducted also.

There are circumstances when you are dispatched for “X” problem but when arrived you find something else that needs to be fixed. Under the current ticket system, it has to be a ticket for every task or every issue you are going to fix, because it is timed and documented. So if you pick a ticket to fix “X” and start to fix X,Y and Z, then you’re not doing your job as it should be done. And you’re firing into your feet!!! This is a good reason for creating additional tickets.

Another good reason is that the best, professional techs will not pass by problems and not fix them. They will fix what they find broken. The way it is done under T is to create maintenance tickets. Learn!!!!!

Techs creating tickets or managers doing this to make their numbers look good?

TFS, specifically MTSO techs on the wireless side, have inexplicably avoided layoffs for the longest time. In many cases there are 3 -4 techs assigned to a location where there is literally no work, no traffic coming through the building, and this has gone on for a long time. They sit there with literally nothing to do all day. The turndown of GSM and all of the associated MTSO equipment had no impact on their headcount. It's well past time to spread the pain around to them as well.

Created not to look busy but to account for time spent on a job done right. When a job takes three hours and you’re given 30 minutes for that work type Peter has to pay Paul some how. Be my guest and take a stand and fight the good fight take what it takes and you’ll be put on a program and ran out of the company.

An occurrence that happens daily across the country with all TFS managers to preserve their ratio tech -mgr and inflate numbers to preserve employment of their domain.

I’m aware of South Florida being investigated. Not sure if it’s spread beyond that. I’d assume it has. Focused on techs creating tickets to look busy.
