Reality is that T has not completed the fiber build in Chicago yet. The target date for completion is end of June. What happens once the build is complete? The company has already stated that it will not continue with lighthgig after that date.
It wasn't all the Union pretty sad when the local politicians fights harder for us to keep jobs then the union does . 🙄

I don’t need no Union Boss negotiating for me. I can negotiate better pay on my own and better benefits too. I’d be paid at least 50 an hour and have a big pension and no monthly insurance costs. This socialist system is what’s holding me back.

The news is true no layoffs for 21 but it had far more to do with the pressure At&t felt from the support Chicago campaign then the union as a matter of fact they had very lite to do with it. And yes I was in the meetings!
If you think a voluntary SIPP to leave the company is going to quench ATT’s thirst to cut jobs....your drinking the union Kool-Aid! Everyone just lost 50,000 off there lump at the end of 2018. You’ll see very few participate in this offer! Most left last year. A FEW will be scared enough to leave and perhaps wisely so! Because they will continue to cut heads despite ANYTHING the union does. Reality check!!!
