Donβt talk bad about Stevenson, please. Investors need him. Watch the public record and see how much of att stock he is selling and at what intervals. That should tell you something. Right?
It when downhill when Stevenson took over!
SBC and the baby bells went downhill after allowing legacy T managers on board. All legacy T managers should have all been pink-slipped from 2nd level up after running their ship into the ground.
You look in the distance and see a pile if st. Call it anything you want like dung, turds, manure but it is still a pile of st. Similarly, take SBC and call it anything you want like AT&T but it is still a pile of s**t company. SBC has always been cheap, seat of the pants management and low paying.
sbc should not have been allowed to buy back the baby bells after the mid 90's forced break up of att.
Seriously business has evolved....stop dwelling on the past
Here's the sad truth folks. As a former career legacy AT&Ter, I can tell you that by the time the southern gentleman Ed came a-courtin' in the early 2000's, MaBell was an ugly old spinster. She had been ridden hard and put away wet by Allen, Armstrong and Dorman. The stock was down to $4 and change and if the company didn't do a reverse split,T would have been de-listed from the NYSE. AT&T's demise has been a long and painful process to live through. I hope someday, somehow it regains some of its former glory.
Sad when SBC bought Ameritech...
Sad in 1984 when AT&T became Ameritech.
Downhill when folks started carrying their phone/TV/mini computer in their pocket.
Sad to see people being nasty towards each other on this board. Everyone wants a paycheck and to be treated fairly. Management vs Union, titles within the union, T vs bell, boomer vs genzer. Give it up already...it's bad enough working for T ...really don't need folks turning on each other.
