Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How does attrition look on your team?

Who else is noticing more people - those who were not offered a buyout - leaving on their own in the last several months? I guess they're smart, taking control of their own destiny. I wish I was that brave - or that I had an alternative - I'd be out of here yesterday.

4rpp.... I wish the same could be said for my group. The transitioning of my responsibilities and task is non existent. Trying to find cheap labor and skills is not going very well. I think reality will hit these ‘managers’ soon. I will be glad to be gone when it does and I know they will blame all the people that are gone for the problems myself included, They have already tried to blame some of the people that have left which is despicable but not a surprise.

The team of four I am in, now five with a recent new hire, will be fine. I am transitioning my duties to several in the team and they are solid. With the detailed memos I’m leaving and their own capabilities, all will be better than good! Processes are being automated and will be improved for the years to come. Great people, great team. I will miss them but it’s time for me to move on.

@Y3bFGXE-2kqo. Correct. What did they expect. Either overpaid or not risk takers. Next rounds may correct however

@Y3bFGXE-yad Infosys movement already done right. How is production support working. Is it better with people who moved from Verizon. Or is it the same as with new people from Infosys

Many leaving. The job market is strong and Verizon is a miserable place to work. I don't see it getting any less miserable. Plus, the most talented employees took the VSP or are leaving on thier own leaving incompetent lifers behind. I'm putting in my two weeks on Monday.

My team of 16 is down to 9 with 3 more of us out next week. We had a mass exodus as folks realized what was coming after the VSPers left... Don't know when they plan on hiring replacements, let alone training them.

Pretty short sighted to leave without a buyout.
