This 5G is a scam, why everyone is talking about 5G like it’s some new revolutionary technology, something never seen before...it is just another piece of electronics that gives more speed...have you ever tested LTE with your phone, a lot of people already get 50MB with 1 bar on their cell, getting more speed on your cell is like having a Ferrari, but when you get to the highway you are restricted by the speed limit....

It is just some marketing to keep customers excited eager to buy and the shareholders on a leach. To make things worst this 5G is not exclusive to any company, so how can this impact your customer base if every other company has it and can upgrade their existing customer to it. (Not like when apple came up with the iPhone and killed all competition for a while).

I work for AT&T and it is even worst, because the only thing 5G is gonna do is kill the wireline phone, internet and TV, put more people out of work and put extra money back into the shareholders pockets, but nothing for the employee...

"This is what union personnel excel at, building fiber networks professionally, safely, neatly, and in a timely manner."

Umm, I got nothing against unions, or you guys in particular, but that statement is laughable. I've heard up to 50% of the dark fiber that VzT installed for VzW failed their OTDR trace after installation. I thought the VzW engineer was exaggerating. Then I heard the same 50% failure rate from a higher up on the VzT side. Totally unrelated situation as well. I'm sure things have improved since then. But I don't find history supporting your claim.

Hey @2cum, it’s fiber-fed antennae.

Seems it’s exactly like 4G, but with more bells and whistles.

This is what union personnel excel at, building fiber networks professionally, safely, neatly, and in a timely manner.

There will be no EISP for them. Unlike accepted VSP-ers, they’re contribution still holds great value and is needed.

The initial rollout of 5G for Chicago and Minneapolis will also be limited. In Chicago, Verizon says that it’ll be concentrating service on The Loop (especially near landmarks like Union Station, Millennium Park, and the Willis Tower) as well as in the Gold Coast, River North, and Old Town areas. Verizon’s store on “the Magnificent Mile” will also offer 5G service.

"Its not real 5G,they havent even written the standard for real 5 g yet do all it is enhanced 4g "

No, lol, that's AT&T. VZ launched their 5G home last year on their home-grown spec, 5G TF. They are now launching 5G mobile on the international 3GPP spec, 5G NR. That's the one that's published. The same spec that all the other carriers (even outside the US) are using to launch 5G on. Go home troll.

And for the record, I'm a 12/28'er. I don't need any kool-aid to drink. I prefer scotch.

What exactly is going live? It can't be REAL 5G, since it doesn't exist yet. It can't be for mobile phones, since 5G mobile phones don't exist yet.

Just more hype to get the mo--ns on Wall Street to bite. Eventually even these id--ts are going to ask: "Hey, where is the actual 5G?"

To which Hans will respond: "Look over there!", while he sneaks out of town.
