are current job openings such as Sr. Specialist Network Support or Sr. Network Support?

Stay away from any position in ATO!
Those are fairly standard job titles for people who do a lot of different things. Job titles have little to do with job security, positive or negative. Depends on the business units and what type of work they're doing. Since you're asking and referring to "current job openings" in this title, you can assume that you'd be safe for a bit if hired into one of those requisitions. They would not be hiring for a position that would immediately be subject to a surplus activity. How long you might be safe for would be open for discussion.
Randy is the only person who's job is safe. The rest of us better prepare now.
Too many variables to make a definitive call. Know some who went to that title and kept their job while others were cut. Seems that having the background to handle relevant projects was a key. If you happen to take that position and end up working on party line elimination you are in trouble.
Well I had the Sr. Specialist title once and was moved out after a surplus two years ago, and now I am surplussed. That is what has me concerned about applying, taking, and moving for a job like that.
yeah nothing is safe in this company. but moving around you can maybe avoid the layoffs. but eventually HR will catch up to you no matter where you work.
I wonder how these people can look themselves in the mirror.
My title was similar, and it left... Just Sayin
I would give you 8 out of 10 chances of not being surplused, unless you are low rated, not in a collaboration zone, or both. 5 out of 10 for being outside a CZ, 2 out of 10 for being low rated. Hey, even blind squirrels find an acorn!
that sounds pretty generic, nothing is safe here. best of luck
