Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is not how things are run here

I'm not sure why so many people on this site think that 1st levels decide how things are run. When I was at AT&T we had to do things a certain way for audits. I was an engineer and there is a "set" way for things to be done. I was one of the ones that didn't always do them this way, but was more concerned with getting it done and the customer getting their service. Everything is "top down" in this company.

The 2nd levels are concerned about work being performed to do good on audits or they get called out by their 3rd level....and so on. I told my 2nd level to lay me off if our group was going to be effected. I was just done with the way things were so I retired. But for so many on this site to think that 1st levels decide how to run the place is ridiculous.

Pretty much what @XZXgh3Y-1ddk said.

That is not an excuse. If you berate your employees and point them for being sick just because you are told to you are part of the problem!

the problem with the audits is they never change. they are still asking servers if there is a modem attached to the server. WTH.
