On the last earnings report, WM was not part of the Entertainment Group. On the other hand, landline telephone was part of the Entertainment Group.
I'm hoping going forward, that Warner Media continues to be reported separately, so it is easier to figure out where the problems are, and aren't.
The numbers I saw for Warner Media looked good, with a nice contribution to earnings. Meanwhile landline residential telephone had a 17% year over year decline. A blind man can see where the layoffs are going to come from, and it is going to be from segments that don't contribute to earnings.

WM encompasses a lot so specifics would be good. While I dont think warner bros. or anything under KT is going to be significantly touched and HBO is the golden child but everything else WM in the entertainment group like Turner doesnt look good.
They've said they want the content producing parts of Warner to get bigger, to go head-to-head with firms like Netflix.
Only place I see any cutbacks is areas like payroll and HR, where there would be duplication with the parent company. And many of those people will be offered something,

I hope so. No work is actually getting done right now Bc people are overly anxious and wanting to know whether they should start planning their next move. A lot of media companies are hiring now, and this “wait n see” strategy is not good for anyone. Just rip off the band aid and let people get on with their lives.
