Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Is the final goal to outsource all that’s possible?

Looks to me that way. Headcount reduction is still looks like the priority of the VZ leadership. Just wondering what departments are next to go to third party companies, after IT?

If you desire a healthy, robust existence, and longevity, I’d lay off those cheaper Big Macs. In the long run, you lose more than you gain, yet you end up fatter.

I feel like people in this thread are really whooshing on the point made about Big Macs and steak

"Currently Verizon is trying to charge premium prices for service that gets worse every day. You can con the people for awhile, but they eventually catch on."

Spend a few extra million on a patriotic advertising campaign. Manipulate the American public into believing that a Big Mac is a Filet Mignon.

Hans job is to maximize shareholder value. He is a empty suit with no allegiance to anyone but the board. He was hired to shake things up and reduce cost. The model so far is shaky at best. The bureaucracy has created less efficiency and the experienced managers are taking full advantage to pad metrics. Once 5G and 1F complete it will be a bloodbath. Good luck.

@Y02w2r3-1udu thats funny. Most of the CEOs that sent jobs to China were patriotic americans. So whats your point?

When i found out the next CEO was to be a non-american, i knew right then and there, like when monty burns sold the power plant to germans, he was an odd choice, Swedish fish cant do anything as well as an American can except burn down churches, they're great at that.

There are talks of customer care groups such as BGCO and NRB being rebadged under OnBrand24.

1brd....right on point. The other thing VZ needs to realize they might be violating contractual obligations with customers if issues aren’t resolved per the contract specs. Cheaper is not always better and we have already been seeing that for years.

"If Verizon can hire someone else to do pretty much the same thing cheaper than the guy currently doing it shouldn't they?"

Yeah, but the Big Macs are cheaper than the Filet Mignon. You can't have it both ways. You either charge a premium price for premium service, or an economy price for economy service. Currently Verizon is trying to charge premium prices for service that gets worse every day. You can con the people for awhile, but they eventually catch on.

And you're not getting the same thing, with cheaper service. There's no way hired hands can or will even try to provide better service than the people who built the network.

This is just Ericsson 2.0. Hans was "Hans the great" when he cut half the employees at Ericsson -- the stock shot up, the fats we're slapping in on the back and making lots of money. He turned into "Hans the goat" when they started losing bucket loads of money because they couldn't take care of their customers.

And it's already happening at Verizon. I have a friend who works out of Dallas -- most of his department took the buyout and they can't come close to keeping up with the tickets they have. Customers are already getting ticked off. These were all experienced techs who worked most tickets on their own, for large corporations. If you're telling they can hire someone fresh off the boat from India, for half price that can do the same job for half price -- I'm going to laugh in your face.

If Verizon can hire someone else to do pretty much the same thing cheaper than the guy currently doing it shouldn't they? People choose to buy Big Macs instead of Filet Mignon every day.
