Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Exodus after bonus?

I’m hoping to see a voluntary mass exodus after bonus day! Take it and run since it will probably be your last from t.

Policy changed years ago, used to be you had to be on payroll on date (Mar 5th then changed to 6th) to get the bonus, this was changed to on payroll 12/31/xx to get full bonus and as mentioned if on payroll the previous year you get a prorated amount based on how long on payroll. The practice of not paying the bonus for time worked, they lost the court case, hence why they pay bonus for time worked in that bonus period.

The old days, yes there were large number of people submitting their resignations immediately after receiving their bonus.

@2kgp People are leaving because of the bonus %? Did you take a survey or something? I saw the payout, was okay.

Bonus would have nothing to do with it, those are determined by December and are paid regardless of how long you are here the next year. I have tuition reimbursement so have to wait it out until I am laid off or till past the time where I would have to pay it back.

The good news for those off payroll with end of January gang, you will also get 25% of 2019 payable in March 2020. Cha-ching.

Have heard no discussion on anyone getting a bonus check and deciding to walk. Everyone I talk to is trying or hoping to get the regular paychecks for as long as possible. Am hearing discussion about putting that money away this year just in case..

From what I'm seeing, people are already leaving. The layoffs, working conditions, prospect of future layoffs, and poor bonus % are too much for many people and they are finding jobs outside the company.

Att is effectively the same as the government. Guaranteed revenue streams from First Net and Universal Service fees, an entire Business Unit dedicated to selling service to the government. Thousands of jobs dedicated to writing processes and auditing compliance with these invented requirements.

we have 0% chance to influence any change in today's environment, the status quo, social inequality is at the heights level ever, if in doubt check your tax return for 2018 ..will you be expecting a return? may be not, bit those that supported the law implementation are among US.

If Congress is unwilling or unable to hold corporate America accountable then it is up to us the consumer.

AT&T has cut over 10,000 jobs since the Tax Cut and Jobs Act passed and has sent these jobs overseas.

Health care?

Living wages?

Pension?

Those things are earned when you work. We the working people need to fight for exactly the same benefits as that of the CEO's and Congress.

"They" want you to believe you don't deserve these things just because you have a job. We have fallen for their mind tricks and need to stand up and fight back.

If your are eligible for a bonus either still employed, or under some bonus guarantee.. First week of March usually. and don't forget they withhold the maximum income tax.

I like these 88% payouts. We don't get any input into the stupid decisions these clowns make, but we get to share the consequences.

For my entire adult lie I've been hearing how much more efficient the private sector is than the government. 40 years with AT&T has taught me what a load of b---s--- that is.

What day is that? Those of us from last summer's voluntary offer are supposed to receive prorated bonus, but the company hasn't sent anything about it.
