Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is what happens when you have leadership that has no clue on how to run a business other than into the ground

The mass exodus of DTV subscribers in the 4Q should be an indication of where this dinosaur technology is headed. But where are all these subscribers headed? Definitely not DTV Now either as that service lost a significant amount of subscribers as well. This is what happens when you have leadership that have no clue on how to run a business other than into the ground. Cord cutting has been around for several years yet Randy decided to pursue satellite TV (a technology popular in the 80’s). And now cord cutting has accelerated tenfold as subscribers are fleeing to lower cost options or even free OTA channels. And wireless is no better. T-Mo added 7M subscribers in 2018 (how many of those were from AT&T?). It’s just gonna get worse at T with Randy and the Johns at the helm.

Couldn’t agree more with @Xv3FBKm-1lcy .

I’m surprised no one mentions the similarities between Randy the Destroyer of Value and the original ATT killer, C Michael Armstrong. Both pursued organization killing blunders, Randy with the 4 billion TMobile, DTV, and now TW. Armstrong with the failed NCR and especially buying all those cable companies dear then having to sell them cheap. It’s like Lord Helmet running the Death Star in Space Balls

I will never have a satellite dish on my house or in my yard. I will resort to hd tv free antennae before I do. I was like that even before att bought dtv.

there was no reason to buy dtv. they could of started a streaming service as part of uverse.

it would of been really easy and we should of started streaming around the late 90's.

all we had to do was run the pipes and give the customers bandwidth and the streaming service could of taken off by now.

but what do I know I don't have an MBA in accounting and I can't do any creative financing.

randy and johnny always act like they are so far ahead of the tech curve and it is a total joke.

DTV was doing just fine before The Rat took over. Customer service has totally gone to c-ap, formerly happy employees are demoralized and customers are abandoning in droves. You totally su@k Randall.

They're definitely not headed to your c-ap Uverse platform.
