The 21 technical titles at Piscataway NJ have been saved, for now. But, there was also 1 reports clerk at Piscataway, and no information that this particular layoff has been averted. Of course, the person may be able to get a job elsewhere, since the job offer guarantee will be part of the process.
probably because they lost an age discrimination lawsuit in Ohio. so legal probably told them to put a hold on things till legal fixes the reason they lost the lawsuit.
Same thing happened to me in 2011. We had about 100 telecommunications specialists working in tech center in Chicago that were surplussed when the work was transferred to Texas. We were all subsequently assigned to another provisioning center out of IPLS (working in our same physical location) to assist in clearing out a c-apload of back orders for ethernet to the cell site. That lasted exactly one year then we were all surplussed again.
If I was one of these techs I'd be working a-- l o w as possuble.
delaying the inevitable.
It's also happening in the Jon Summers organization. He's having to override some surplus notifications and extend employees 6 months or beyond.
Hilarious. Yes, balls are dropping all over the place due to the layoffs. That’s what happens when it’s a top level lay-off and they don’t ask the lower level managers.
Confirmed. 21 Union represented ATT local switch and private line technicians had their layoff suspended to process VoIP orders.
ATT laid off so many people, entire groups and the work they performed were not being processed.
Seems leadership forgot that customers don’t pay for service they don’t receive.
Is this real
