Another day, another day in the CZ with NO SEATING!!!
I might try and work from the John. At least I can sit in there.
How is this effective?

Many CZ’s don’t scan badges on the way out the door. This is noteworthy for those of us who don’t have any local employees to colloraborate with, ever...
Do what our TechM buddies do - Stop by at 7am in the morning - choose a seat of your liking - drink coffee - step out and return around 10am. "Collaborate" until 3pm and off you go - since you came in early at 7 am :)
“Engagement zone” sounds warlike. But perhaps that is fitting. This entire company is like a goddamn warzone- complete with hostile foreign invaders.
there is plenty of seats in the collaraboration soace they built in the office closet to me...alas its not an engagement zone.
Do you think there are cameras in the Johns.
HR is accessing the laptop cameras of those already seated. Employing facial recognition they will identify you as seatless and add your name to the April surplus roster
Geez , catch up folks, CZ is so 2018, its now EZ (engagement zone) and Hub cities
Interesting part of the space issues is the amount of money that was spent in some locations to downsize cubicles, seating arrangements, etc. Supposedly to make room for all the people that would be coming as leases expired in other locations. Been awhile since I have been to one of those locations but saw a awful lot of empty, shiny new that had been sitting that way for awhile.
ftt - what is the "bigger picture"? I'm intrigued now...
Really curious if there will be any follow up steps other than "get back on the office and collaborate"?
My guess is "No". Which makes this whole exercise pointless.
@ftt. Agreed. This is all by design. Don’t assign cubes because it gives a sense of permanence. Having everyone fight over space creates the illusion (and correctly so) that your position with the company is TEMPORARY. Your spot is temporary.
And they want to make it as miserable as possible to get as many people to quit so they don’t have to pay severance. AT&T is a dirtbag outfit that uses lots of dirty tricks.
My director explained that management can see the bigger picture and this is purely a tactical implementation, patience my young apprentice
Alpharetta
No kidding...which CZ out of curiosity?
