Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What happens now?

They went through with the layoffs, more will come, no doubt, but what now? Are we going through a big restructuring within the company? It would be a little strange that all this happened and things stayed the same, not to mention it would be hard, maybe impossible, to deal with the workload, now that we lost so much of our colleagues.

Almost monopoly?? Are you talking voice services? In some cases those are being given away. Know folks who had those as part of a bundle and they have no idea of what that telephone number is because they never use it. Would be interesting to see what percentage of the voice lines on the books have no outbound traffic just inbound telemarketing calls.

As of 1/29/19,9:04 AM ET, those problems became someone else's monkeys in someone else's circus.

If you look at the track record for R and the John's over the last decade or so, you'll see a bunch of failed mergers, botched attempts of doing things, and overspending on mergers. Why would layoffs be any different? It's pretty dang hard to screw up an almost monopoly, but they are making John Zeglis look like Warren Buffett. 180b in debt, 25% of stock value gone, hemorrhaging customers, bleeding employees dry,

Nothing will change until all 4 of them are out. But by then, the beloved dividend (the only reason people own the stock now) will suffer, the stock will drop, and they will get a parachute. Investors can only hope that the BOD develops some testicular fortitude, and tries for clawback on compensation. Yeah, I'm not holding my breath either on that.
