Fiber to the cell sites was a big indicator. However really saw it locally when the fiber was installed for Uverse. Feeder work basically disappeared.
It's not over, as everyone is eluding to. The workforce will be trimmed down a bit, but so many customers, businesses etc, they still need people to do physical work. Desk job people not so much.

Not much for company employees. Mobility installs are mostly contracted work.
Ye old timers spun copper into gold. Glass not so much, as soon as they pushed the fiber to cell sites hicap maintenance was cut significantly no more gravy, back to powdered milk.
Aerial plant has always been a pain, copper or fiber. Will say that in most of the areas I have worked, buried makes up a huge percentage of it. Just saying that fiber eliminates a huge amount of expense dollars. That old pressurized copper plant put a lot of kids through college. In every department.

That is a good thing but if the feeder is a fiber that typically has extra capacity there is no longer a need for end to end work. Probably mostly the distribution side. One fiber has a tremendous amount of capacity.
Our build this year will be bigger than last year, but I'm in a growing city.
No question there will be cuts but how many and where. Getting fiber placed is just the first step. Getting service rolled to it is part of the equation. Then toss in maintenance. It basically eliminates most weather related issues but it doesn’t handle backhoes too well.
As stated heard 1st quarter fiber build is over! Got to believe there’ll be lots of extra bodies!

They said the massive fiber buildout will be completed the first half of the year. Question is how many of those resources will go towards the 5G work.
I’m sure there will be a 10-20% reduction in ATO & C&E.
