Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATO and Collab Zones

Ok guys, so when are we going to hear something from the senior level mgmt on this CZ stuff? The rumors and speculation is killing me. Why won’t thwy just spell out the plan? Tell me I need to move, tell me I better start looking elsewhere, tell me this is what we are doing and you bette get prepared. I have seen one Email from Jeff Mc. and that is absolutely it. I really want to keep my job. I’ll move if I have to, just tell me!

I'm so sorry you guys are going through this turmoil. I left on 2/6 in 2013 with 30 years service and can sympathize with the uncertainty you face. It Is so sad to see how our company has changed over the years. When I was hired in 1983 (South Central Bell), my work group was like family. We felt a fierce loyalty to the company because we felt secure in long-term employment. Sadly, this sentiment is long gone now. I wish you all the best of luck going forward.

WE do not have any options. We re gone at the end of March. Even our director is gone.

She said the company is very different from the old company and it's all about the bottom line and how Dallas sees things. She also said the collaboration Zone's were just a way to downsize in areas they want to dump all but cell service. She also indicated the First Net will be moved to contractors by the summer in a lot of the areas where they can get rid of the people not in the "collaboration Zone"

What group are you guys in?

We in ATD are getting severance. looks like 30 days. Not much but it's something. We also were told no jobs are available in the area and would have to move but there would not be any guarantee on keeping that job.

WE got the news today ( 2-4-19 ) and we have until march 31. Apparently we are not in a collaboration Zone in the Midwest states.

After you are laid off...that is when they will share the rules of musical chairs.

Jeff Mc is out for himself only. He cannot be trusted. Leave now.

This goes back to 2012 and the company is aware of the benefits of WFH for the company and its employees:

Its just a matter of killing everybody's work/life balance to make sure that as many as possible leave. This to achieve their target employee count. So far it looks like the company does not care if you are a top performer, other factors are more important.

Next round will target the ones not coming to CZ office at least 4 days a week.

Well if they do it the, same as this recurrent round, at least no one will be surprised to find out that they were laid off by location. I bet they switch it up a bit just to keep everyone guessing and give us something to collaborate about.

The company has spelled it out pretty clearly and the writing is on the walls. If you’re not in a collaboration zone you need to get to one to stay with the company. I would advise against moving to Atlanta.
