Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Will Randy finally get the hook?

How long can the board justify keeping him around? 2019 has to be his year of karma.

In May 2007 T stock was around 41. After a decade of his leadership its struggling to hit 30. A whole quarter of shareholder value evaporated.

In 2011 he wanted to buy T-mobile for $39B. It was blocked but lost T $4B in the process.

In 2015 he wanted DIRECTV for $49B and paid closer to $70B including debt.

In 2017 he wanted TimeWarner for $85B and paid closer to $109B including debt.

He has made over $20M a year for most of his tenure. Oh he was docked $2M for the $4B DTV debacle. I bet that hurt. Cant wait to hear how much he made in 2018.

The direction is unsustainable and company is faltering under his guidance. Is this the straw to break the camel's back?

Agreed, RS will be with us for many years to come. When he finally retires, he will join the Board of Directors of another big Company for $500K or more a year.

The problem is that the entire C-suite needs to go and that would never happen. Who would they replace Randall with? Donovan? That guy creeps me out even more.

Unless he really screws something up, he will be around for quite a while. /s

wishful thinking .,..management is for themselves, in any corporation, very unlikely that the board of directors will do anything at all. He will retire when he is ready to go, not a day before
