Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

DTV news source - Big Data

So which news channel do those surplused watch? I have been concerned the company will use data on families viewing habit on the discounted tv services to make employment decisions. Not viewing CNN for your news then not the type of person AT&T wants in their company. Especially if you recall comments by one of the John's in LWD during election time.

$300 per month for DTV is $200 + $30 Regional Sports Fee + $30 equipment charges + $40 taxes. I'm not even sure why there is an equipment fee at this point they should have millions of spare boxes to give out!

From a big Data aspect I would be more worried about the amount of time that is used on vehicles like Q for totally non business purposes than a once a year survey.

The permission you provided must be consistent with AT&T’s Privacy Policy, so they are only looking at aggregate and anonymous data. Now, if you are stupid enough to get on this board from work - different story. For that your employment agreement applies.

To the mo--n claiming he's paying $300 a month for DirecTV. No, you're not. The highest package is Premier which is $200 a month. Maybe lay off the p--n, dummy?

If that was the case i'd been fired a long time ago for my p--n addiction, streaming m---s on my data free devices 24 hours a day.

I disagree. I don’t think this is a reach at all. To get the employee discounts, you had to consent to being monitored. This is why I opted out. I have a competitor for cable and Internet.

Quite a stretch indeed. But hey, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

My sister just went cable free and I am intrigued. I spend $300 per month on DTV and I am bored. How many times can I watch “Airport”? DTV is a dinosaur and should be extinct. It used to be cool and wait a few months to see new release movies at home for free. Now I just drive to AMC. Not all DTV’s fault. But DTV is obsolete.

I think you're really reaching on this one. They have plenty of other variables to consider. Not only is this impractical, I think you give them way too much credit to be able to pull that off.
