Although the fact that January finished doesn't provide us with any comfort, given that it seems that these layoffs will continue, I was just wondering does anyone have a clue what is the final number of people that were laid off in January?

For those surplussed - the MESA link for "critical documents" was supposed to have the ADEA Listing available to show who was part of the surplus (numbers of employees by state, level, s-x, time served). It is not available but yesterday they changed the status on viewing this document to "assessed" instead of "not assessed" which then shows on our records that we were able to view this documents. It is not yet available so how can we have viewed it? This is not ethical. They need to produce this document or extend the time we have to view it. Instead they have falsified the documentation to make it look like we all received it. What is taking so long to pull this information from the HR system? Something is going on. Maybe they are changing the facts of the data.
Better off checking under the org chart in amplify it is employees only.
Randall Stephenson 212818
Jeff McElfresh 97059
Jennifer Robertson 52016 - she said on her fireside chat Surpluses were 8% under her organization which equates to 4161 persons surplused.
The number that shows under McElfresh or any executive doesn't differentiate between an actual employer or temp contractor. Oversees contractors still show up and you won't get a true number as stated in the comments below.
Number will be tough to track as my cheese is being moved overseas.
To -ryo: actually, not a bad idea except that you should wait until about April 5th to query Webphone on the remaining employees under McElfresh. This is to let all the PCA's in each affected group have time to make their changes in eLink and for the database to update. I have seen during the previous "events" that the final updates took about a week to show.
A good idea after that is for someone to begin posting those number on this board in the hopes that some media outlet (not affiliated with AT&T) will pick up on those numbers and maybe begin questioning the "official" numbers as spewed out by the company mouthpiece.
Go to Webphone and query MacElfresh. In the toolbar is a function called OrgMail
Check the box for everyone reporting to him. It was around 162K in January and includes all managers, contractors, etc.
Write that number down.
On April 1st see what the new number is and do the arithmetic
Last year the count dropped by 15k when things were over.
