Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Denies Layoffs, AT&T Denies WSJ Article on DTV, AT&T Denies..........................

From WSJ "49 Billion Dollar Problem" Article:

Editor’s Note: This article, originally published online Jan. 29, is being republished with portions omitted to correct errors. Prior versions of this article said AT&T Inc. call-center workers sometimes made it difficult for customers to cancel DirecTV service. AT&T disputes that. Those passages were removed................................

I wonder if Senior Management called the WSJ editors, or their Ad department to change the narrative?

@XocvaMc-yni Just a heads up. Make sure to keep all your tracking numbers and dates of when you mail all the equipment back. I was laid off back in October and canceled and mailed back the equipment 2 weeks before my final day on payroll. A month after I had returned the equipment (in the padded return box they had sent me) I started getting calls and bills stating I owed them $356 in non-returned equipment fees and they would be sending me to collections if I didn’t pay immediately. It took me over 2 months and 6 different phone calls to finally get someone to confirm my genies were returned and to have the charges removed. I had all the serial numbers and tracking numbers and could tell them exactly where that box was last scanned and received. No one cared and they kept saying they can’t see anything on their end. They even had the gall to try and resell me DirecTV as I’m arguing with them over fake equipment charges.

ATT just wants to control the narrative to keep the analyst happy.

Since I am being surplused I will drop the employee discounted DTV in March. It is 90% advertising so it is barely worth the $11/month as it is. Will report back here if they try to prevent me from dropping the account. I will also switch my family cell plan to T Mobile

No doubt they did. Anything they can do to make them look like the hero and not the bad guy.
