Volunteers to take the place of those layed off?

Several people on here were hoping to be selected in the layoff on Monday. If you weren't selected, have you looked at trading places with someone who was selected but does not want to leave. Will the company even entertain that option?

Some people told their boss they would be in next layoff regardless....some that wanted to retire with some extra money. And they got surplus notice on Monday. It wasn't to help anyone who wanted to stay.

Should have done it like Survivor and we could collaborate as a challenge and you get a job. Every week they could vote more people off.

Volunteering for Layoff is so yesterday. Now its just a list that gets published and if you are on it, then you get the notice. I don't believe that they take volunteers anymore.
