Are you still giving it your all? Are you still performing your individual acts of heroism and personal sacrifice that actually keep this place running? Or are you like me, just making daily scratches on the wall waiting for this sentence to end and wanting to move on with our lives?

An honest week’s pay for an honest day’s work. Passing the buck continues, but was there before the VSP anyhow.
to be honest I am doing practically nothing, least as possible. im already in retirement mode. I will screw them until my last minute, payback baby although I have been doing nothing for years, hahaha
Shankar DID not say anything of the sort. Troll
As Shankar said at GTS 2019 kickoff, all critical VSPers are kept until June. If you let go in March or December, you are not critical.
I've been winding my duties down slowly. I plan on my last week having nothing to do and twiddling my thumbs. I'm not helping anyone by working my a-- off until the last minute. Fact is, those left behind will have to figure things out and already are. It has nothing to do with screwing people over by slacking off. This is just a huge reset. Only the most important things will get done and Verizon will discover its real priorities. Everyone acts like they are forced to do things. The company doesn't owe anyone anything and we don't owe the company anything, same with our teammates. If you feel loyalty towards any of it, then you will probably feel screwed in the long run because you are expecting that loyalty back. Its just a job! There are other jobs out there.
I still get my afternoon nap.
Not much has changed.
Instead of contributing I've finally watched The Wire in it's entirety; those first season Verizon branded payphones...nostalgic.
30% of my group left in December, I'm out March. It's been busier than we've been in years and, frankly, I want to throw in the towel and coast my last 50 days. We've had a couple of folks that didn't take the VSP quit already. Hope they don't try and hold us longer...
I am doing a lot of a#$nine tasks so my upper management can check a box on their to do list. These tasks have convinced me that my upper management doesn’t realize the sh$&storm that is about to hit in some areas. I have raised the flag to let them know a hurricane is coming and if they ignore it that is their problem. I will continue to support the people that have always been good to me and I am definitely counting the days until I am finally free..
I am still working hard, I hold my teammates in high regard and would never slack off and cause them pain.. Giving it my all till 6/28.
I've been more productive than ever! I check my stocks, updated my resume, caught up with friends, and planning my next vacation.

I set the expectation that IDGAF anymore. Teammates are still finding ways to assign things my while we ramp up replacements. That said I'm working as hard as I have in the past while under duress.
Nobody is productive, not the denied folks, the people leaving or the people staying. Great going Verizon!
I am out on 3/22. I am fully committed to support my direct reports at full capacity until I put my stuff in a box on my last day. I held a call with them to discuss this and made sure they know that I will not slack off at all in assisting them with anything and everything they need help with. Most of my success in management has come through their efforts so I owe them no less than a full effort until my last day.
As for the rest of it. Whatever! My Director is holding calls looking for input on how to structure the org after we're gone. It's like suddenly he has to actually do something managerial and has no idea how to. He's having to do a bit more than forward emails form the Ivory Tower now. He wants suggestions on how work should be allocated, how to best support the needs of the business with the people left etc etc.. We also have projects coming in Q2 that are going to be quite significant and customers are asking how they will be supported post VSP. He seems to have no idea.
Subtracting the 6 Personal Days we got, that leaves just 31 working days left here until 3/22 Kind of hard to be overly concerned about any of that stuff honestly. My creativity is more focused on what to do with my pending freedom!
