What if you are on disability, leave of absence or on baby bonding and you are chosen? Do they tell you when you get back? How does the 60 days to look for a job workout?

Why would they want to tell you before you return, else you might try to prolong your leave since there's nothing to return to.
Some LOA's have a job reinstatement guarantee and some don't.
I found it odd that disability notification upon return was in e-mail. Have not seen that in prior years my assumption is individuals are going out on disability to take care of health issues they have been neglecting for years. Get that additional up to two years salary/medical prior to getting surplussed and work on new skills while at it!!

On disability. But I see that is not the case...
They do not notify you officially until you return..unless its just vacation, then they hound you down or leave a vmail. Otherwise the notification and countdown come on your first day back. If your close with your supervisor, might get you an early heads up.
An email we got today says they will notify you when you come back
You can be on the list and your 60 days will begin when you return.
