Linux, VMware etc system administrator type jobs, high paying here in USA, have grown significantly in Bratislava where AT&T gets probably zero, or very insignificant revenue.... Layoff US workers, and hire them there.... AT&T Executives DON'T want that story publicized or investigated by press.

AT&T had some sort of presence in Bratislava since 1998. Nowadays well over 3000 workers are employed there. Interesting though, that no one mentions that they will be replacing a lot of the devops workforce they let go on January 29th with new staff hired in Mexico. New support center opening soon. Is it really a surplus if you are replacing the laid off workforce right away?

From the way my management has explained it, it was the Obama administration that put up subsidies to American corps having overseas work forces. Those subsidies supposedly went away when Trump came into office but the cost of foreign work forces is considered too lucrative to stop sending work abroad.
I know ~20% of the reports under my director are in Brno, have been untouchable in terms of reductions, and are given leeway in making mistakes because they are the chosen ones.
The Company is also moving many jobs to the Czech Republic, mostly Mobility Tech Support jobs. A friend of mine said at least they speak english very well(unlike the folks in India)
MoW services equal less than 9% of revenue...Not sure I would suggest AT&T is a global company....It's workforce is global without a doubt

many of the mobility NOC's (Network Operation Center) are now managed by Brno Czech republic. More USA jobs are moved over there every week.
Yes. Why anyone would get a PMP is beyond me. I am getting pressure to do that- and quite frankly I see that as a career dead end. I see IT as a dead end. Until we address the outsourcing and H1B problem, IT is not the field to work in.

AT&T's customer base is almost entirely in the United States, but AT&T does not support the American worker.
Many Project Management jobs offshored for the last six or so years. Many staff and IT jobs over there as well, so what’s new? It may not have hit certain groups yet. AT&T is a global company.
There’s a whole lot more in Slovakia than you mentioned and has been for years. BAU unfortunately for US workers.
