I’ve read multiple things on here on who will be the ones notifying folks they are the ones being surplussed from if your affected you already know because list came out Thursday to HR will let you know, to it being a mass email. Anyone have any direct knowledge as of what time we will know and will it be our direct supervisor to tell us? Been told I should be safe this round but still sick waiting on this and wondering if in fact I am.

Managers will be fired.
Craft employees are needed to
keep the network running. So sorry, lifes a beatch.
FYI - HR is known as Talent Acquisition now . THEY DID NOT call us, our Director read the statement and would not answer questions.
My cou phone legitimately died this morning. Good luck gettin ahold of me!
They wait until the very end of your shift.
@xsn Exactly my plan. I've seen this coming for quite some time (you'd almost have to be blind not to) and have been thankful to be in a position where I could continue to grow my skills and maintain relevance, both for myself and for T.
Some of my coworkers, on the other hand, have used the time to whine and moan about how bad things are. I believe this gives me the upper hand in the market both for internal positions or for positions outside if there truly is no space for me at T.
I think they figured out that there is a payroll cost with the "precursor to a layoff.". Monday should be the day and out in 60 days. BUCKLE UP.
I can only speak to two years ago, last October. The call came mid morning, as it did to all those affected. Afternoon calls gave the "all clear." This is not a guarantee, but I believe it’s T’s normal method of operation. Get it done early, get it all out early, answer the questions and fill in the spaces to move employees toward transitioning out.
For those who have cultivated contacts over your career, and wish to remain with T, regain your focus but make the calls and network, ASAP. Yes, it’s usually what you know that matters....but who you know gets that foot in the door, credentials will follow. Your contacts can network for you, take advantage of that....they will become your ‘de facto’ headhunters!
Check your Outlook for a meeting maker with your supervisor early Monday. When I was surplussed last year, my supervisor scheduled the meeting on Sunday evening (sneaky b--tard) for early Monday morning with me. Once he/she notifies you are being surplussed they will then email the surplus package with all the info you need to read and acknowledge. You will also set up your MESA login. Good luck to all that will be affected.
My team was surprised several years ago. We came into work and there was a mandatory meeting invite. We had no clue what it was about. When we joined we were muted, and in all honesty it sounded like a prerecorded message. My boss was running late and I called her and said you need to get in here. We’ve all been laid off.
Why wouldn’t they make everyone wait longer? They could careless. Fact.
When our site management staff was last hit with layoffs back in Feb. 2018, everyone had a meeting with the area manager by 9am. That made for an outstanding day of work and the next 59 days that followed for everyone.
surely they wouldn’t make people wait all day!!
My manager said notifications have to be complete by 4pm central time.
Area manager in our location. They are covering first thing Monday.
I feel your pain.
