After this round is over, this company (at least for ATO) is going to require families to be uprooted if not near one of these collaboration zones and move (at our own expense) to cont8nue to be employed? Is that really the plan here or is this speculation? What kind of timeframe will all this happen? I don’t foresee a majority of people wanting to pack up and move. Probably the whole idea.....thank you

I talked to a testing tech in a NRC, who said he is among the 50% of his group being surplused, with no other employment options available. HR told them they will be off payroll in March. Most past surpluses eliminated titles, but the personnel remained employed, albeit in a different job. I was surplused 2x in 9mos. Both NRC jobs were moved to GA. I stayed put, went out to a CO. NOW, it seems the "streamlining" is more severe.
The tricky text they use if your position is still going to backfilled is “Your job has moved to [hub city]. You can feel free to apply for it there, along with everyone else.
What about business call centers in lay-off ?
NOT every group will be affected. At least for now. But trust me, doing valuable work, being rated high, working nights and weekends, when you group is tapped, those don't matter. Watch them gut sales teams this year by using service providers to resell.

This so true, don't take the whole non CZ reductions literally.T is a national Enterprise they have lots of folks doing revenue producing work all around the country, and will make adjustments as necessary.
The key is if your in an org that has SIGNIFICANT revenue producing work, then your all good. Reality is lots of T folks are working on marginal projects , whose work may be cheaper to farm out (off shore) or simply coelsce into another division.
@czr - "Jobs outside of designated zones are being cut entirely"... this is not accurate. Stop spreading false information. This would be impossible to implement. My group is working critical initiatives and are completely geographically dispersed. We won't be touched this year. I am not being naïve or boasting, this is the truth. I am sure there are other groups like mine; in fact, I know there are. Now, if you are removed from your group somehow that is in a collaboration zone, yes, you are a target. But they cannot and will not be eliminating entire groups doing critical work based on the collaboration zone lie. The collaboration zone lie is a tool to assist them in reducing headcount by getting the low hanging fruit that fall into a certain circumstance.
So, who does the work where we have groups that are mostly remote and not close to a zone? Hard to replace years of knowledge overnight with a new hire. What’s the timeframe on all of this being completed, with everyone in ATO working FT in one of these zones? Thanks

@czr, sounds like you have recent information. I work for a VP directly and also am a remote worker. My actual address of record is outside of any zones, but my web phone address is in a major hub.
He called me a couple months ago and told me I should probably think about moving back to the hub, he had a preliminary list already but I wasn't on it then. Apparently, the list came from webphone.
Any idea if they got smart and are using the list of actual addresses of record now?
I doubt it...the plan is to eliminate jobs but disguise it as being an issue with ones location (among other excuses). I doubt anyone will be given to opportunity to relocate, even at their own expense. Given how this surplus event was communicated along with the frequency of previous surpluses one should really consider other opportunities before relocating.
