We got some bogus email about updating our contact/emergency list.
We had a guy on my team that was out on disability, AD had to track him down in the hospital to tell him that day, though they deferred his last day on payroll due to some other paperwork he was still ultimately cut.
When I was laid off last Sept, 1 of the people to be laid off with me was on disability. I think his 60 days started when he was off of disability. I was long gone before he came back though so don't know exactly what happened. But it seems,that if your name comes up then you are gone. Good luck to all.
@lad : Wow. That's cold and brutal.
True story......
I had an impacted employee on leave because their son had stage 3 cancer and they needed the day off to attend treatment with him. They would have been in the office the next day for me to inform them.
I had to call the employee while they were at their sons bedside. My VP actually took me into a conference room and made me call them after I protested.
Have a good weekend everyone!
3 years ago, I was in a surplus list. They called me even when I was in PTO.
(Still here in ATT though. Another org took me in).
yep, I will be on PTO. I'll let you know what happens, maybe my manager will be asking me today how he can reach me on Monday.
My experience is they will hunt you down unless you are in disability. Save the day for extra pay in the event you get laid off.
Lol that made me laugh....needed that!
Or they have already thought of that and the announcements come today!
They have to give at least 60 day notice. And when is the last time surplus announcements weren’t on a Friday?
Lol....management should stage a massive “sick out”, just to throw a wrench in the process.
