Received official word today that approximately 1 out of every 4 field managers will be impacted by the surplus being announced on Monday. The notification will be made by a call from your Manager.

I do have the utmost respect for heroes who put their asses on the line.
But not everyone in the military does. There are slackers.
If it was your best option to join the military after high school, fine. Do I have to kiss your a-- forever if you spent your entire time in Italy, Germany, Japan?, or in a branch that faced little chance of confronting a battle situation?

What most of you jerks lack is respect for anyone who served in the military. These people interrupted their lives for your sorry butts so you can whine about how your internet is slow. You guys have no clue how to take care of your sorry butts. I'm so glad my off-spring has so surpassed your lack of any intelligence. As a fellow veteran, trying to equate military experience to business value is a lost cause. If you think T has a lot of Kool-Aide drinkers then you should see the armed forces are full of Kool-Aide-oholics. They care about recruiting warm bodies and literally brainwashing us to act in line with expectations. I've spent years in therapy because of what I went through and for what? Semper f---ing fi!
What bearing does your prior military service have in furthering your point?

I served in the U.S.A.F. Twice decorated for meritorious service in my enlistment. My country thought enough of me to decorate me twice in a 4 yrs. As a bargained for employee, I worked alone in a rural environment as a cable splicer, getting in the underground, setting up my own traffic protection and successfully completing many projects alone. Ase’s, backbones, Srn’s. in a career that spanned 16 yrs. Then, I was promoted to a managers position. I work 10-12 hours a day, to ensure my metrics are met. I usually arrive at work at 530 a.m. and leave after a 10-12 hour day. I am surrounded by people just like me that work tirelessly doing the same thing. I gave up 4 yrs of my life to learn something that would offer me a career for a lifetime. I’m surrounded by people that have worked tirelessly put in countless hours, are on call 24/7. We care about restoration of a fiber outage, ensuring customers expectations are met. We know what we’re doing daily, do you? We are measure on cycle time, MTTR, overage cable, OTP. We collaborate, deliberate, work together to get things done. We are the backs the company is built on. Faster? lighter? More agile? What you risk will be more than you gain!
And in the new AFO org TFS (manager network services) are 25% of the title. And by salary cost more to keep on payroll.
Strange how that worked out.
