Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is it January 28?

We were told (after the McElfresh email went out), during a conference call that if you were impacted you would be notified 1/28 and if you weren’t impacted you would be notified on the 1/29

Is this true? Do we finally have a confirmation of the date? Can anybody else confirm this, please?

I'm located in BFE and have been told directly from my AVP that I am safe..for this round. I'm working on 5G development and deployment which may have something to do with it..for now. I've received the highest rating each year for the last five years in a row expecting the same again. I provide 24x7 availability to support my team which is common..I haven't taken a real disconected vacation in years. Even my leadership is unsure what my future holds here with the company..

Direct TV folks received an email today informing them of the impending cuts with some facilities at greater than 10%. Supposed to be some sort of group call for them tomorrow.

1/28 ( AM ) if you get an email from your supervisor that he or she wants a 1:1 with you that morning - BAD ! If you are invited for a call after lunch with the group, they you might have made the cut.

@riu, is most likely right. Though 2 yrs ago, last October, emails went out to field morning calls to tell individuals they were surplussed with instructions to join group Q & A’s over several weeks lasting 60-90 minutes.

Afternoon calls, or emails, were to explain you were not among the group affected. They have done it that way for awhile, but lost track lately.

Some have ventured they might do a Friday/Monday split (1/25 -1/28) but in what order, who knows.

Email announces that your job is surplussed on the 28th and then the 29th the survivors get an email telling them to be nice to the ones surplussed.......

Doesn’t seem to be any consistent method so maybe we’re all blowing this out of proportion? Maybe reorg announcements vs layoffs on 1/28?

Our director is having two calls on the 28th and all of his reports can attend either call. Not sure how that works if someone if affected and notified the same day as the director's call unless everyone under him is affected. Death of GIP?

Same as I heard. Not sure why they would need to inform you on the 29th if you aren’t impacted. We’re all smart enough to figure out if you aren’t called the 28th, you made it one more month.

My AM told us it was 1/28. He wouldn't have done that if it wasn't confirmed for him.
