@sbl Verizon is hiring like crazy in every state they operate in, check out the career section on their site. Sure 10K managers just took a sweet offer, I would take that offer all day long too. Now they replace what they need to with less expensive workers.
The better investment is TMO. They have wind under their sails. They are kicking the sh-- out of everyone in marketing regardless of their lame network. VZW is in utter shambles doing the same thing AT&t is doing. They just lost 10.4K people with more on the way. Contracted workforce is the new model. Embrace the s---, because it's not getting better across the Telecom industry anytime soon.
This is a terrible argument for AT&T employees to want to use as an example.
Verizon has already sold off its data centers, had massive layoffs and sold off wireline. They have reduced their work force to around 100k.
AT&T is following VZ’s playbook, so admire them all the way to unemployment.
VZ.. all the way .the "good ole boys" leading sbc errrr att have destroyed the company.
I like how they said a couple of times that Verizon has quality management. AT&T provided me a good living but I don't think the current CEO is very good and I'm surprised that the board hasn't had him step down. Verizon has a good dividend, 4.2 %, but their stock has done very well the last year. So much better than AT&T. I wished I got into that stock last year instead of buying more at&t.
I’m trying to get a job at Verizon.
I pick Vz too.
