Ever since about 2015 it’s been about employees worrying if they’re still going to have a job then being cut while leadership says “we’re in this together”. The AFO (AT&T Field Operations) town hall was today where they called us a “team”. It’s horseshit. This year is going to be a bloodbath at least when it comes to Field Operations layoffs. Get ready.

Even those of us who would never consider wearing a tin foil hat or watching Fox News are getting to the point where we wonder if we are being intentionally sabotaged by our own company.
I"m speaking from the DirecTV side, but just in the last year, we have seen our inventory and supplies cut by 75% to where we are literally dumpster diving for lnb's. Wired clients? None in 5 weeks, so sorry new customer - can't do you today - no parts. What inventory we do get is obviously and poorly refurbished but It's new to the customer - right?
Customer service is a joke - we went from top of the list in NPS to where we now get lectured by every other customer over how they despised talking to some twit in the South Pacific for 3 hours just to get a new remote.
Our work schedules change daily - never are told that next week is 6 days - our Area Manager is too afraid to say that out loud. Instead, we find it when one of the guys scans EASE one day and finds out we are on 6's starting tomorrow. Ten hour days - normal. Same day drop-ins at 4 in the afternoon that keep you out til 8 or 9 - normal.
Take a day off for a dentist or the kids - screw you, better have a note from your Coroner for that day or you are docked for that month and won't qualify for your bonus of government cheese.
And then our traveling Director has the gall to ask - "why has half your crew quit for other companies this past year?".
The coffee shops and donut shops will see their businesses decline when fields ops dinks are let go
They want people to worry sick so people just quit on their own.
