They ask for exceptions for everything rather than building solutions the right way from the beginning. What could go possibly wrong with dozens of people having access to the same admin login.
He and his team failed to remedy a MRA from the OCC. Twice.
Dillon was a dead man walking after Minnesota. Surprised this was not blatantly obvious.
Dillon was a disaster in everything he touched the past 10 years.
Some of the things the posters are forgetting is that EIT has as many regulatory issues as any other part of the bank. Regulators most likely were also losing confidence in Dillon and they most likely dictated the need for the new CIO and wanted that role to report to the CEO so there could be no excuses that the CEO did not know. It’s tell tale that they never elevated Dillon to the same reporting structure than his predecessor. Now they need to look at the rest of Technology leaders and Technology Risk Leaders.
I thought he quit because EIT was moved up to report to CEO and now a new IT boss was hired instead of him being promoted to the new role.
Good riddance. A major outage is an embarrassment to everyone in IT.
Next they need to lock up Stumpf/Sloan and the board.
Look at the core and related systems very old technology that is no longer supported. I’m sure the regulators have concerns with a major bank running ancient technology that isn’t supported by any vendors
Good he was responsible for disaster recovery for years but when there was an actual disaster nothing worked and he had to be fired.
I'm sure the last poster was right it had something to do with the outages in the last month among other things.
I will bet it had something to do with the major outages a few weeks ago when all online and mobile banking was down for days. WF likely got fined for it by the OCC.
