Hearing another ATO surplus in April. Also have an AM in our group that keeps saying he has been telling us he has info but they have all been told not to say anything.

I hope they slash ATO significantly. We need to cut expenses to get profit and stock price up and ATO is overstaffed and unproductive.
Well some groups are being told basically worthless information. The numbers have been met unless something changes, then there will be another round of cuts. DUH! Did that make you feel more secure?
Not just self healing. Saw a video a couple of years ago where a fiber fed system was put into UT Austin where they could get a increase in bandwidth online. Have a big conference and need more capacity then order it for the period needed. No more getting with your sales rep, who got with engineering, who got with construction, who turned it over to the specials group. That is not counting all the steps in between and the multiple touches and the 6 month timeframe to get installed.
ATO needs some trimming down they are nothing but inbred mo--ns who can't administer anything. They think linux is windows just because it runs on x86 so you have to load up every linux box with mcafee spyware. Don't use any of the free security tools that come with linux just buy everything because some vp has a budget to keep and doesn't want to lose the money. But yet they will rewrite ldap for user management. Nothing but politics and who you are related to in ATO.
The worse of it is they think they are all geniuses and know system administration better than the world. They are their own worse enemy.
I am in ATO, and expect an announcement last week of April, to be off payroll end of second quarter.
It may depend on what your AM means by another surplus in April. If they mean a surplus announcement then they are incorrect. The surplus process takes time so an April announcement would mean they (Management) had to be working on it since Feb (They have not). However, if your AM means the process begins in April then they are possibly correct. I would expect a Mid-May Announcement unless there is a MVO then you can push that back another couple of weeks.
The network is self healing now. Kinda like my laptop or cable box or modem. Power off, wait, and turn back on. And if that doesn’t work? Well you just abandon it. Who needs a network? We’ve gone Hollywood now Baby! Ain’t the future grand?
Nope it’s true, my AM also told me the same thing. I asked about it and he stated that there is a layoff potentially coming soon, they have details however nothing is set in stone until it’s announced and he could not go into anymore detail about it. Also these are hard times for everyone, how about you try not being a dic---ad to people?

Yeah almost 2000 this year for outside craft. C&E will be the hardest hit. All I can say is live way below your means because it’s just a matter of time boys.
