Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Post after post about RS and JD salaries and poor decision making and the penalties they should take. Who has been under a rock for the past few decades and believe this is unique to AT&T. Increase the severance money, tell us we are without a job with dignity, etc. I know people who were let go from large companies with 30 days severance. It is and has been happening all over. We get the quarterly reports with all the supposed good news but never take the time to look at the financial statements to see the yoy million number access line loss. We see the announcement saying they are going to stop proactively selling services such as Uverse. We see the mechanization, the fiber build, etc. We were told 5 years ago of the plan to cut the workforce drastically. Having been cut myself it was no surprise. In fact I worked on projects that came up with silly savings numbers. I sat on conference calls with 20 folks of which quite a few had no idea of what was being discussed. Rubber is meeting the road.
