Surplus MTP - Pension

$uck$ to be me....

FYI: Taking MTP DOES NOT get you to the MR75 at Fidelity for Pension Bump.

After many many calls

The Assoc Dir of my GRE confirmed MTP only gets you Med/Dent/Vision and Product Discounts.

Whitney at Fidelity confirmed: MTP does not get me to MR75 at Fidelity.

So...................no matter if I take MTP or not my pension is whatever it is when I roll off the payroll.

Oh and...........MTP Med/Dent/Vision if you were hired after something like Aug 1 1997 are Access Only. No Subsidized Benefits. Not sure what exactly is the benefit of taking MTP if you were hired after 8/1/97.

This is $uck$ToBeMe: I was hired into Ameritech in mid 98. MTP benefits for me were explained as "Access Only"

No Subsidize.....So I'm not planning to take MTP since not benefit for Med/Den/Vision.

It depends on which company hired you in and when. After 1997 not sure what month Ameritech...you will never get retirement benefits. Now call the hot line to make sure. Stop depending on what someone else tells you.

I am sorry for your situation. I am afraid it will be staring me in the face soon too as I won’t reach MR75 until April 2021. I have zero confidence in avoiding the surplus bullet for 26 more months.

Thanks for confirming that MTP is really only for benefits, not pension.

(And that MTP overall is lame)

This company has so many goddamn lawyers. And so many loopholes through which they use to exclude themselves from paying pensions and any other benefits to the employees

Many don’t realize how particularly bad the management STD and LTD disability plans are.

There are multiple lawsuits pending against the company.
