At the labs we have multiple MIT grads, most who have extracurricular activities teaching etc. on the side...However, a good majority have left in past years as there is not a lot of R&D or innovation these days....I am an ivy league grad with multiple Tech Degrees and 28 yrs of svc.....Most of us started at Bell Labs and a very small minority are still here..... I like the work and also volunteer and mentor on the side. I have a couple kids in graduate school and a good life...Yes there are some of us here on the site and are interested in hearing views of other employees.....If let go I will teach or find something else but I am not losing any sleep.....

Here's a little reality check for you. I used to work with a guy who graduated from MIT. Bright guy but he was so lazy I feared that he would forget to take a breath and we'd have to find a way to dispose of the body.

Net Income per employee - $104,000
T 2018 Net Income - $19 billion
No. of employees - 273,210
Net Income per employee - $70,000
For T to achieve the same income as Verizon, they need to reduce employees to 183,000.
That's how they see it. It's all about the greenbacks.
not yet still here, but tempted at times to move on. not very happy how the company is pushing their lack of job security, uncertainty and discomfort to all regardless of how bright you are.

If you were an MIT engineer I don't think Att would be your employer.

The right side represents scores that fall above the average, but I doubt peole with options will look at AT&T as their dream job, likely look somewhere else e.g. Google, Amazon

Interesting, the right side of the bell curve is where the high values are, right? So, on your planet the numbers on the number line must get smaller as you go further to the right! That's fascinating. ;-)
