Big meeting in MERIDEN tomorrow , lots of work will be leaving the state.
At least one Director and a VP will be in town for the big outsourcing news.
Work being outsourced to a vendor. May or may not be an onshore vendor, no solid info yet.

Latest info. they have now included all people in the Meriden building and told remaining managers they must report to a office in New York city. Talk about getting to work costs. tolls and gas not to mention parking your car in the city.
Want to bet other states think they are ok. right Soon all they will have is wireless and outsourced workers.

The announcement comes as AT&T’s record of service to its Connecticut customers continues to be dismal,” Henderson said. “AT&T’s relentless job reductions have led to abysmal customer service, prompting the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control to impose an unprecedented $1.1 million fine against the corporation last fall.”
The DPUC penalized AT&T for failing to fix phone lines in a timely manner. The agency found that the utility had failed to meet state regulations requiring it to fix broken phone lines within 24 hours. AT&T also failed to comply with subsequent DPUC orders to meet the standards, the agency found, leading to the fine.
But AT&T spokesman Marty Richter said Friday the job cuts are needed because of “increased competition and wireless substitution as the telecommunications industry continues to evolve.”
Of the 120 non management still in the state of CT only about 30 jobs were being offered in Atlanta and Texas. We were not told how many will stay in the state.
The meeting was a mess and a lot of people are really upset. The center in Meriden Ct is being closed and as previously suspected the company is outsourcing overseas for any remotely accessible system they can work. The VP did say the company is looking at all areas and will consider keeping jobs based on costs. someone asked a question on why move jobs overseas and why not look at alternatives. He said costs are the only consideration. when people said they were going to send email to the government and local politicians he suggested the company executives were hopeful employees would not do that. He said the administration ( Trump ) was fighting to stop the outsourcing and because the Congress House is demo controlled they would fight anything he does including blocking outsourcing.

Thought that operation was sold off. How many AT&T employees are still left in that state?
