To those who are left. This might be the time for folks to schedule and have a serious face to face meeting with a Fidelity rep. The web calculator does a decent job but a sit down might enable you to get more information and in fact they pulled up the numbers I had input. Did one myself a few years ago and nothing like having someone look across their desk and give you some brutal facts. Luckily I got a horses butt. Started inputting expenses more realistically and actually knew where I was. Get a 2% raise and most went into savings. Stopped looking at bonus check as fun money. Not where I need to be but have a better feel of where I am.

I believe the OP is talking about taking the time to try and get your financial house in order right now and not waiting until you get the call.
I met with Fidelity and Vanguard. Fidelity said to be active managers of my portfolio they would charge me 0.88% annually to manage it. The more you have with them, the lower they will go. So on $2,000,000 it would be $17,600 annually. And that is generous. More typical is 1% or higher. Vanguard has a standard fee of 0.30% regardless of portfolio size - on $2,000,000 that's $6,000 or $11,600 less than Fidelity. I actually went with Vanguard after interviewing them and choosing to actively manage myself. I found out they have portfolio balancing tools that enable you to do it on your own. Have been doing this since our Tec Dev surplus in March, 2015. Just and example. You'll have to make your own decision.
I spoke to fidelity and a financial advisor. Waiting to meet with one more advisor before I make my final decision.
I dumped company stock for better performing stock 3 years ago.
Fidelity should only be one tool in your financial plan. Not the only tool in your plan.
Exchange company stock (for just about anything else positive) at least quarterly so it doesn't drag down the whole portfolio.
Open a Roth IRA and contribute max yearly.
There are many other options, letting someone else make financial decisions for YOU is like letting them make healthcare decisions for you. It may not be appropriate and you probably wont like the results.
