again I call BS. so lets go with your math, that works out to be 2m per year, for a multi billion company? that's peanuts, not even averaging Randalls salary per year. you cannot exclude the trace groups because who do they represent? gee I don't know COMPANIES. ATT is in the top 10 per the hill, but so what? the unions spend a lot of money on democrats. how great is that? Look at IL how is that working out for the tax paying citizens of IL. You beat up on corporate lobbying but ignore the unions bribing, I mean buying I mean contributing to mostly Democrats, who vote for legislations that benefits unions (not so much the members) if thats not bribery and money laundering then I don't know what is.

Over the past 20 years, millions of dollars have been taken in by the CWA. What have they done with the $$$? How have they helped the workers at AT&T? MSOC/Layoffs/High healthcare costs/bonus cuts/off shore hiring/1% raises all came and the CWA smiled and said "It's the best we can do, keep the dues coming"

And do you know who the biggest lobbyist in dollars is in Washington? That's right, AT&T. When our politicians work for special interest money, they aren't going to care about creating a good work environment for this nation's workers.

American workers have been decimated over the last few decades with manufacturing going overseas for cheap labor and sold on the "service/tech industry" to get into. Well now we see it was a bait and switch since they have been coming after these techie white collar jobs with the H1B visa's after destroying much of the blue collar jobs. Until we address the fact that we Americans cannot compete against foreign cheap labor wages with our cost of living substantially higher then it'll be another slow bleeding death for blue/white collar workers. Good luck waking up the majority population on this!

News and data like thousands of PhDs applying for waiter jobs in Mumbai or millions applying for just a thousand jobs in Gujarat or 10 million applying for a small number of jobs in railways.

Not your fault, Things have change,not exclusive at AT&T, latest the report showed 32% of AT&T's offshored operations had 23.7 percent of IT Indian males, unemployment in India is quite hight in the high 30's %, without work. average IT salaries are 10K yearly.

IBM, CITI, BOA, JPMORGAN, GOOGLE, AMAZON, INFOSYS, 2 out of 10 US workers are US based vs. foreign workers in offshored operations.

How can anyone compete with that? AT&T and many other's have all the cheap labor they will ever need.

Most companies are importing cheap tech labor from overseas at much greater discount.

Other companies will do same sooner or later.

I fail to see why people don’t realize that if they can work effectively from home, then their job can be done remotely from thousands of miles away, even with a thick accent.

I work with an offshore team of developers. They not great but cost is about 1/8th US salary. So to Wall Street, it’s money on the table.

The job with some on-shore stickiness are management and sales.
