Self help for Atlanta

I wonder if the underperforming city of Atlanta, complete with its joke of a Retail Ops group, could somehow will themselves into figuring out how to sell video? I mean, they can figure out how to blame DIRECTV for everything, and so maybe--just maybe--those incredible brains of theirs can pause for a moment of self reflection and personal growth.

To get started, here are some suggested thoughts for you:

  1. Retail Ops, why do you continue to allow your stores to defraud AT&T customers? How do you think your children would react to knowing that mommy and daddy are petty thieves?

  2. With all the time disgruntled Atlantans spend on this board, could it not be put to better use trying to figure out how to sell video? I mean, even Comcast has managed to slow the bleeding soemwhat. Comcast!

  3. Why was DIRECTV so successful until AT&T took over? Think long and hard about this one.

  4. Are you a part of the culture problem at AT&T? Why does Randy go around to investors making fun of "phone company culture?" Is Randy embarrassed by you?

  5. Is your lashing out at El Segundo really due to the fact that you're living outside of your means and really don't have any financial liquidity?

Have a blessed day!

If you're at Atlanta, you can monitor the Georgia Dept. of Labor Business Layoff/Closing list at https://www.dol.state.ga.us/public/es/warn/searchwarns. As of now, there were no entries from AT&T for "Metropolitan Atlanta Georgia" geographic area.

So sick of the Atlanta vs Ca threads

And I am an Atlanta person. I don’t give a sh-- anymore. Atlanta is a great city. With a lot of jobs. The hell with T. I will not move to that sh--hole in Dallas or Ca. Screw it.

I really think we have to stay focused on the real problem. Atlanta vs. El Segundo pissing matches only absolve the real culprits of their crimes. Yes DTV was more successful before they had AT&T processes and systems bolted on. I'm not from DTV and I recognize that. No it is not the employees in Atlanta, or Dallas, or El Segundo or anywhere else that caused this debacle. Executives who mostly work out of 208 S. Akard St. in Dallas broke this company and although they remain unrepentant in public, they know they have a real problem. Donovan's Q and A with Marachel Knight in Around the Globe told you all you needed to know. Don't focus on his answers that was the usual pablum. Focus on the questions she was scripted with to ask him. They know perfectly well that a critical mass of employees know why we are in trouble and have clearly lost trust in "leadership" and have lost any belief that the current crop of over-paid dilettantes would have a clue to fixing it. We are seeing desperation and the sinking knowledge that they can't fix it without a major disruption of the old boys club on S. Akard. Don't blame your colleagues. They are just like you. Blame the overpaid amateurs that set the company on a death spiral.
