Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

With its corporate mentality, AT&T can’t cope with the new acquisitions and a change of business direction

There are a thousand examples in the corporate world that throwing money and buying something is n’t enough to ensure a bright future. The company that innovated are and produces something that is good or in-demand, got to that point by being innovative. AT&T with its dinosaur mentality and business practices that belong to the 20th century, to say the least, can’t develop anything that can make their acquisition better and, in that sense, better revenue-producers. If mentality doesn’t change, which I highly doubt, AT&T will just end up destroying its acquisitions and the change of business into a media company will only produce more debt.

You are correct and well said. Att fits round blocks in square holes everyday and they will never stop.

They will never change and continue what they think is innovating.

Yeah, AT&T is headed for ruin. Randall seems intent on reenacting the Armstrong scenario. They went into $180B of debt to acquire DTV and Time Warner among other things. DTV is losing customers at an alarming rate and Stankey is working his industry leading cost structure magic on TW. This will rotisserie the goose that laid the golden egg and cause the overpayment for TW to be even more evident as quality is destroyed by unskilled, one size fits all cost cutting done by Bell Heads with no knowledge of how to handle creative endeavors. The combination of ignorance and arrogance will rapidly s--- the value out of the Warner creative properties. Make some popcorn this game of thrones promises to be entertaining. Business texts will be talking about this on the same page with Sears and GE.
