AMs and directors should be ashamed of themselves. This is the 5th round of surplus activities I’ve been through now. Each and every time we’ve been told they (AMs and Directors) know nothing more than we do, that is an absolute lie. At this point I hope it’s me that goes, lucky for me I’m in a state where no collaboration zone exists. My director ensures his cronies safety as his #1 priority. If you aren’t part of his core team from years ago you aren’t part of it now. This place is toxic and no one should have to deal with this BS every 3-6 months. I will gladly take my severance and move on.

I am in ATO and my group of peers and our AM have not had one team call discussing the McElfresh email as of yet. That said, I know my AM pretty well, and I believe the reason for that is that there is simply nothing to say; he is as much in the dark as we are. I know from talking to others in other ATO groups that the calls they had were completely pointless, as there was no information to share beyond what was stated in the email. So I appreciate and respect the fact that my AM has not wasted our time. All of that said, I believe at some point very soon things will change as information is shared with the AM and they start to determine how many and specifically who will be shown the door.

@X8yhWqc-fol, you miss the point. because I don't want the company to fail and am annoyed at people who wish it will does not mean I don't empathize with others who are over 50 and afraid. I am over 50, too "young" for R75. I don't want to loose my job, I make good money. A friend of mine who got laid off in 2017 finally found a job after to rounds of contract work, but he is making 12k less than his last salary at att. My beef with many of the losers on this board is how do they benefit if Randall is fired? (ex employees that is); how do they benefit if the company fails or the company looses customers? it makes it worse for the people who remain if the company cannot improve the bottom line. true management in many areas are lousy, back stabbers, selfish etc. but how is that different from us? As Christ said take the beam from your eye before pointing out the mote in your brothers eye.
OP, like you, mine also claims to know nothing yet has had multiple meetings with her leadership. WTF are they meeting about? If they truly don’t know anything it is another example of how poorly this place is run. For recent surplus events where we lost people she also said she was not aware who was impacted and she was also invited to calls not knowing if she was on the good or bad call. Seeing how decisions are made here a part of me wants to believe her.
Those of you in the “why don’t you just leave” camp perhaps fail to understand the situation some of us at a certain age and tenure find ourselves in. I could start another job next week at the same, possibly a bit less dough. With kids in college I can’t afford to walk and leave that severance on the table though. So lay me off. But I’m staying until you do.73
@X8yhWqc-tzk I am not worried about my job as I have a viable side thing going on (no conflict with ATT). plus why worry? if you are going to be laid off how will worrying stop that? prepare yourself by minimizing debt, learn some new skills or improve your own. will it guarantee you won't be laid off? of course not, but at least if you are then you should be able to find another job no matter how long it takes. if it makes you feel good to whine, b--ch, wish the company would fail go ahead. all it does is tag you as a loser and a pathetic individual. Get a life. Nothing you saw or do will negatively impact the people whom you dislike. they are living rent free in your head if you feel that way.
