The fabulous idea of collaboration

looking around that this fabulous idea of "collaboration" (which is horse $hit), all I see is:

miserable faces

long lines for coffee

people camped out in odd places in various spots throughout the building

poor air circulation and repugnant smells

Here's an idea, instead of cramming everyone in at once, why not schedule various days to go in the office based on AVP or some other way of slimming down the groups. It's obvious this is an exercise in futility, a waste of time & money for most folks and not a very productive or enthusiastic way to work.

Why bother doing this at all when talk is 10K people will be let go over the course of this year?

Wait until the first snow in NJ, you think people will drive in bad weather into an office? NOT ME.

@ailo we ARE grown up, and that is exactly why we were able to telecommute, because we were trustworthy, hardworking employees that didn't require micromanagement & monitoring. After 7 years of performing my job without any "collaboration" needed & receiving excellent ratings, to demand I drive to a location where none of my team members are located (as we are spread out throughout the country), sit there all day by myself and perform the same duties I can do anywhere, it is an insult to my work ethic. My responsibilities haven't changed and I should not be judged on VPN time or badge swipes.

I feel so bad for you people who actually have to show up somewhere to work now! NOT!!!!!! We drive everyday to work in any weather and you people complain. Grow up!!!!!!!

Ran into someone who has an office in MT that he has not sat in the chair in 4 years, just was called back to come in. He had a point, if no one missed him being in an office in 4 years why now.

Does anyone know what buildings T actually owns as opposed to rents? CRE doesn't really explain that. Just curious.

the network opps guy is the bomb. Installers, repair men and splicers have been working in the trenches everyday the more foul the weather the longer the hours outdoors, rain, snow, heat you da man , you wont get millennials to do that. hard work is beneath them so is a 6 figure income

No collaboration for me, still waiting for it. Certainly increased coffee lines and social hour.

I've been in the office for over 4 months. I have not had 1 face to face meeting. What a farce this is.

i have never once worked from home. i have driven in to work in floods, ice, tornados, and yes i can prove it. you people who whine about a little drive are candy asses. network ops does it every day no matter what. pussies.

When T ends wfh you'll have to use paid time.

T's expense goes down.

If it snows and your boss won’t let you work from home take a personal day. They can’t deny a personal day. Do not do any work from home. Life is too short to stress over corporate BS. Hope it all works out for you.

I am 56 year old recent widower with a 500 ft driveway residing in Warren Cty NJ. My manager is in Alpharetta GA. I am 36 miles from my Bedminster location. Must I send a picture of a yardstick showing the amount of snow received? Or if I must make the drive in, perhaps I can forward my hospital bill & car repair bill to management should I incur a car accident while driving in hazardous road conditions. How absolutely ludicrous this deceptive directive is.

Makes perfect sense: let’s punish hard workers for things they did in the past that don’t align with new mandates that haven’t been shared with them yet. In our current political and cultural climate, I suppose it isn’t too much of a stretch.

This is exactly how the company plans to surplus employees...WFH and you’ll be out the door. If it’s a COB conduct then kiss your severance goodbye. If the rumors are true, HR already has a list of VPN logins and building card swipes dating back to 2017 so if you WFH full time back then no sense going to the office now. You’re already flagged.

It has been confirmed that we have to call our boss to get approval to work from home on a snow day or in the event of severe weather forecast be on the look out for an email giving the approval in advance of the weather event.
