Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Debt- the elephant in the room

This article brings insight into the fact that the three big companies that are trying to reinvent themselves as media giants are all heavily burdened by debt. It’s obvious that all of them can’t be market leaders and I’m afraid that anything less for either of these companies than to dominate the market is a ticket to fast failure, given the amount of debt that they piled up. What I find most frightening is the fact that of all three, AT&T has, by far the biggest amount of debt piled up, and it has the least experience in the media business. Failure in the media business looks like a very realistic option

Of the 3, AT&T is the one that will have a 5G product.

TW won't be the next cash cow so long as they are owned by T. T could screw up anything.

More scary than the debt load is the fact that all of AT&T Communication's products are past peak in the product life cycle. It is hard to generate cash flow to pay for debt obligations and other financial and operational obligations when in this situation. TW will have to be the new cash cow.

The cause of the significant lay-off is the huge debt load.
