Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Let’s be real

I’ve been a full time teleworkers for years and managed other teleworkers. I’ve maintained a stellar performance rating. The issue is AT&T is unwilling to address individuals and prefers to take the group approach for everything. I had a teleworker with an attendance problem. They refused to let me address attendance and made me go through a 6 month painful process of performance improvement plans rather than just telling get them they needed to come to wok. Period. We even see this in the rating structure where we now classify roughly 70-80% of employees with the same rating. Really? Your entire workforce performs the same? How amazing. Trump should be furious that companies receiving large tax breaks are continually laying off people. Employees buy their own office supplies while executives flit around the country flying in and out on the same day for meetings when we are one of the largest communications companies. Our building they want us to work in are mold ridden, trash isn’t emptied for days in break rooms, and office equipment is falling apart yet they paint this picture of modern 2020 workspaces with ping pong tables and video games which isn’t the norm. All of this is smoke and mirrors. Promoting collaboration is a s-xy scam for just trying to recruit a younger workforce and reduce liabilities because we are a debt machine and bleeding to the competition daily. Failed mergers, lack of a real strategy, and creating positions for executives that look good to the media when the really have no business being in that role (Arnoldi) are the real issues. Look at our marketing compared to our competitors. It’s a joke. They are running this company into the ground while the TMO CEO sits there in his jeans he bought with the 6B we gave them laughing at us on Twitter.

Thank you! Every time I see Arnoldi I think, how in the hell did she get there? Doesn’t have the resume for it, that’s for sure. I can say the same for a bunch of folks I’ve seen skip the ranks with NOTHING to show for it or justify it. Just a pretty face. While I’ve seen very qualified folks that should move up languish and leave.

The poster upthread- exactly right about M. Arnoldi. And...she is the one who is being groomed to take over this sinking ship once Candy Boy (rightfully) gets the boot.

She will be even worse than Candy Boy... if you can imagine...

Randy should have been fired after the TMUS failed merger. This tells me his underlings are wack job cowards.

Arnoldi got promoted for one reason and one reason only...it wasn't what she knew, it was who she blew.

The problem with performance reviews is they are calibrated based on the raise percentage which is decided long before the reviews are written.
