Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Atlanta to LA - Stankey and Christopher are mo--ns

Here’s an idea. Let’s overpay for DTV at the height or the Pay TV market, then get rid of some of your best talent by relocating them from one of the most economical cities in the US to live (Atlanta) to one of the worst (LA). Meanwhile, decide that you won’t need to send satellites up anymore which is why the DTV business was founded in LA, and watch as all the newest movies and TV shows are created in Atlanta.

Stankey and Christopher are truly two of the absolute worst “leaders” this company has to offer and are responsible for destroying at least half the value of DTV.

ATL vs LA lip service should be directed into a different direction. Maybe.. You know instead of across a map it should go up a ladder.

“Meanwhile, decide that you won’t need to send satellites up anymore which is why the DTV business was founded in LA, and watch as all the newest movies and TV shows are created in Atlanta.”

I’m sure this made sense to the author, but it’s probably one of the dumbest things I’ve read in this thread, and I’m factoring in the LA/Atlanta squabble.

Looks like the ATL vs LA feud is alive and well. :)

Anyone care to speculate on the fate of Denver?

More tears from Atlanta wimps. Not surprised, really. So many taunting comments from Lennox losers and Peachtree pricks in 2016 about DTV workers and how they’re worthless and incompetent, and that El Segundo would be shut down in a matter of 12-24 months...and then Stanley pulled the rug out from underneath all of you.

Good, you Atlantans are some of the most bigoted, country-clubbing, backstabbing pieces of trash I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with...and as dumb as door nail.

I look forward to your journey westward, and I cannot wait to treat you with the same disrespect and treachery you treated thousands of DIRECTV employees.

You sad pieces of trash are the reason Randall and John cut off WarnerMedia from the rest of the company; they saw what you did to DIRECTV.

Choke on your failure in 2019.

LA is the biggest sh**hole city in this country after San Fransicko.

Fact- moving from a Atlanta- an African American cultural Mecca to LA is a complete DOWNGRADE in terms of cost of living, community, culture- and LA even has more traffic than Atlanta.

This is a layoff in disguise. AND- potentially has racial/EEOC overtones. I hope some

African American employees impacted by this sue. They can make the argument that they are being unfairly targeted.

the "move people" directive is just a secret way to lay off the older workers. Most of the people in the places they are shuttering (NJ, GA, IL, and some TX) are the legacy AT&T/Bell System/Cingular folks, who are old and expensive. AT&T knows that 99.9% of them will not choose to move.... since they are likely within 10-12 years of retirement, and who the f--- would move to LA to retire? It's a pathetic, illegal way to get rid of the grey hairs. And, the DTV purchase will go down in business case textbooks all over, as the dumbest acquisition in recorded history.

@X3wzKwP-elg,

Serious question: do you have reading comprehension problems? That poster didn’t say Atlanta gutted El Segundo; he said they danced when it happened.

I have no idea what it was like down in Atlanta when all that happened in 2016, but the comments on this board were pretty bad, and the people who posts them weren’t exactly shy about repping the ATL.

Delicious, delicious tears from Atlanta crybabies with waistlines bigger than their IQs.

Los Angeles and Dallas; the only cities that matter. Break out the mothballs and cardboard boxes for Atlanta.

And now, a word from Randy Newman!

“Look at that mountain

Look at those trees

Look at that bum over there, man

He's down on his knees

Look at these women

There ain't nothing like 'em nowhere

Century Boulevard (we love it)

Victory Boulevard (we love it)

Santa Monica Boulevard (we love it)

Sixth Street (we love it, we love it)

We love L.A.”

Hmm....@sgz, trying to decide whether your Mom woke you up late for work, missing breakfast, and you’re having a tantrum...or perhaps we all simply just witnessed a bi-polar episode! Maybe both? We may never know.

C’mon LA is not so bad. They have the homeless people lay on the feces and used syringes so the tourist don’t get sick.

Plus AT&T/WarnerMedia still needs a presence in that state after they sell off wireline there.

The comment about loving ATL crybabies.

If you were just a wee bit brighter you might realize that the people in ATL didn't gut the DTV workforce, it was the same people who are now forcing them to move from ATL to LA. So if anybody deserves to suffer here, it's the people responsible, not another group of their victims.

Also, nobody celebrates when other people their jobs or otherwise get screwed by their employer, with the exception of a few nasty specimens like you.

Finally, I'm from neither ATL nor LA, but I can tell you having been to both, LA is one place I hope never to have to go back to.

@X3wzKwP-sgz - "Los Angeles is the greatest city on Earth".

LMAO!! Los Angeles is the greatest city on earth like my a$$h0le is the cleanest body part of mine. LA is nothing but a holly-weirdo, homeless, illegal immigrant infested sh!+ hole along with the entire rest of California. Don't forget the libtards voting for taxing everyone out the a$$ and causing what remains of their middle class to flee the state.

If California is hell, LA is the 7th layer of it.

Christopher's org is where the fake 5G idea came from. Tempted to mention the name of the person who came up with it so they can get their well deserved public acclaim, but I'm not that mean. It's not just DC, the talent pool is pretty shallow through the whole organization.

I love watching Peachtree and Lennox crybabies flood this forum to complain about cross country moves, especially since many of those same people were doing celebratory dances when DTV’s El Segundo workforce was being gutted.

And a huge LOL at the comment about how everything is shot in Atlanta; the only reason that’s done is because your state has bent over backwards giving Hollywood tons of tax breaks and rebates to do so. And once that goes, so does Hollywood.

Los Angeles is the greatest city on Earth, and the sooner you come to realize that is the sooner you buy a Lakers jersey to symbolize that undeniable truth.

The tears of Atlanta are flowing and they are delicious. Keep crying; my cup runneth over.
