The market pressure argument is bogus when there is no real competition for a couple of giant companies, and let us not forget the massive taxpayer funded subsidies and corporate welfare that put them where they are.

This is not free enterprise, this is monopoly capitalism, the magic of the market place is smoke and mirrors at this level.

The motherboard piece reads like it was written by a true Marxist. We may not agree with the way the direction of the company, but technology largely determines that. Our public switched telephone network (PSTN) is so old and deteriorating. Parts are no longer available in most cases. What do these clowns expect telecoms to do - die with the equipment? As for outsourcing call centers, the piece goes back to 2011--it has nothing to do with the Trump economy. I say let market pressures take care of that. When customers can't understand the Indian CSR and take their business elsewhere that will get their attention. As far as pay, I don't see the technicians starving with their measly $40/hr. pay scale. Is it a stressful time to be an employee--absolutely. Do we need better leadership--absolutely. Do we need the federal government running the business--absolutely NOT!
