Even though the company has not confirmed this number, I believe it is true, if not even bigger. I wouldn’t expect anything other from the company then to deny it and try to mask these numbers with other statistics. The sad thing is that chances are that this trend will continue throughout 2019.

All you have to do is read the annual report when it comes out, compare to 2017
Maybe 11,000 positions were eliminated, but how many of those were people who took buyout offers and left with smiles on their faces? How many people were involuntarily terminated? It wasn't 11,000.
And the article says that AT&T off-shored some of these jobs, but how many? 50, or 5000? That number is missing.
Have you see AT&T's latest numbers? I am surprised it's not steeper. For all those still have paychecks coming - i wouldn't complaint and try to do the best you can - instead of venting about WFH privileges being revoked.
